Commonwealth of Integrations \u2013 this is the title of one of the sections on the CIS Internet portal. Building powerful geopolitical and geoeconomic constructs in the Eurasian space is more relevant today than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commonwealth of Independent States actively interacts with the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Close coordination is driven by the commonality of tasks and challenges facing these international organizations, the need to develop promising directions for further development in close cooperation with partners, and taking into account the interests of all cooperating parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 3, 2025, another meeting of the senior administrative officials of the CIS, CSTO and SCO was held in Beijing. A roadmap for cooperation was signed, which, as CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev notes, is confirmation of the organizations\u2019 plans to maintain and deepen partnership relations with an emphasis on practical cooperation. The document reflects a commitment to shaping a new Eurasian security architecture, developing cooperation in the economy and in the cultural sphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2012, interaction has been developing between the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission. In May 2026, an Action Plan of Jointly Implemented Activities for 2026\u20132030 was signed. This is already the fourth such document, demonstrating the systematic and consistent nature of the partnership between the two organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev considers cooperation between the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Union State to be a vivid example of integration. According to him, the CIS Executive Committee and the Permanent Committee of the Union State \u201care in close contact; a good exchange of information and, importantly, experience has been established between them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 19, 2026, at the sixth meeting of energy ministers of the SCO member states, an initiative was put forward to unite the efforts of the CIS, SCO and EAEU on a permanent energy platform with the aim of achieving energy security, stability of energy systems, integration of energy markets, digitalization of the industry and implementation of joint infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commonwealth of Integrations is being improved in terms of content and organization. At the center of this evolving structure is the CIS as the oldest integration platform in the Eurasian space, possessing a powerful unifying potential, the ability to renew itself and put forward advanced ideas that meet the demands of the time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
